Try Something Different: New York Sour with Merlot
Spice up your weekend with this elegant twist on a classic cocktail featuring Viña Maipo’s Merlot.
INGREDIENTS
- 60 ml whiskey or bourbon
 
- 30 ml lemon juice
 
- 20 ml simple syrup (gomme syrup)
 
- 15 ml Classic Series Merlot wine
 
- 1 egg white
 
- 1 cherry or orange peel for garnish
 
- Ice
 
PREPARATION
- Add 4 ice cubes to a shaker.
 - Pour in all the ingredients except the wine, and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.
 - Place 3 ice cubes in an old-fashioned whiskey glass and strain the cocktail over the ice.
Gently pour the red wine over the back of a spoon so it floats on top, creating a beautiful layered effect. - Garnish with a cherry or a twist of orange peel.
